Hi, I'm interested in learning about some old royal icing nails/tools that I found. The only picture I have been able to find on line leads me to this site... perhaps Sugarcraft used to sell them?
Here is a link to the search that found them: Royal Icing Tools
Thanks! Zoe

Dear Zoe, In my Wilton Yearbook 1979 Cake Decorating book on page 153 in the back under the flower nails category, there are 8 shapes shown in a picture: Arch, Large Border, Crescent, Medium Border, Stovepipe, Small Border, Basket and Pillow. The description read as follows:
Australian Net Nails. Just rub a little oil on these unusual metal nails and pipe latticework designs on them. Then dry and lift off enchanting dimensional decorations. Also makes baskets, dainty arches, other decorations. Set includes 4 of the 8 nails shown. 402-W-888. Set. $15.95
I have seen these used on the top edges of cakes where the top half rests on the top of the cake and the bottom half is flush to the cake side. Usually Cornelli Lace is piped on the cake to continue the filigree latticework theme. Hope this helped.
